22-11-23 Day 3 Treatment 3
Good evening everyone , yes I survived another Day .Thanks to everyone who read yesterdays Blog and Commented , thats what I need good comments Bad Comments ,Jokes , anything please ,just remember to leave your names so I know who to come After when I am cured ha ha
So here we are 3 days in already only another 27 to go , ha ha , and would you believe it everything went smoothly again , love it . So far I have had 6 Different Drivers of Different Nationalities and I have never yet been taken or brought back the same way twice , even though they use Sat Nav , funny .
So today I arrive at Christies in plenty of time , make my way to Department 39 , I know the way now !! and check in and go to the waiting outside Room 4 ,my Treatment room . Didnt have to wait long before Hannah called me inside , and today I had a bit of a treat for the Team , yesterday I explained to Lydia that I was doing a Blog which she thought was a great idea,, But is there any chance of someone taking some pics of me on the Machine before they wind it up , and as I hand over a Pack of Quality Street she smiles and says of course , yeah cracked it , see incentive helps along with a smile. And Was also introduced to the other 2 members of the Team ,Rhianna and wait for it the only Male is called Achilles !! I nearly wet myself because wanted the choccies too , so funny we shook hands and off I went to the Machine ( need a name for that thing ,suggestions welcome )
In I go Shirt off and onto the Slab ( see pics , yes pics ) Knees raised and positioned very precisely and now I have seen myself too , on to a Head Neck Rest and lined up as seen in pics and then the Mask is placed on me , This covers Head and shoulders and fits very snug , I cant open my eyes or Mouth ,thats a blessing I hear you say , then Clipped in , I honestly cannot move and breathing through my Nose is the only opening. Before the Team leave the room and start the Machine tells me she taking some pics for me I give Thumbs up and a Wave ,and they leave me and the Machine starts up . I cant say its noisy as such it just makes different sounds as it Moves around me for about 3 minutes . Then the girls come back in and release me , and thats another Session done .
I have to say during this I dont feel anything at all no heat no cold its strange really .And I also have to say that after 3 Treatments I as yet have no side effects whatsoever , I am being very good on my Mouth Hygiene as instructed and Saline Mouth washes every 2 hours except during the night of course .
Hopefully if I do what I am told and follow the Instructions all should be well ,I am eating well and sleeping well and drinking about 3 pts of water daily , not as easy as it sounds. Today before I went out I put a Beef Curry in my slow cooker and it smelt lovely when I walked in , it bloody tasted lovely too , followed by Jelly and Ice Cream ,all on the approved Listy thing.
So thats Wednesday done enjoy

Hi Tom, wow look at those pics truly amazing what you're going thru, and you seem to be coping so well. Making friends wherever you go and handing sweeties out they'll love you, but hey who doesn't lol, so proud of you and what you're going thru, you're doing so well, lots of love and hugs, nice to be included in this journey of yours, thankyou, a name for the machine? ReplyDeleteHi Tom, great photos of the “FixIt” machine, how long does it take?, you mention 3 minutes!. Making all these new friends too, you’re a real smoothy…..3 days in and chocolates already. Great to hear your managing this procedure, you’re in good shape Tom so no surprise there, I mean who has radiotherapy then goes home for a curry…..well Tom does..🙂, I just hope there’s no “left over” gas problems at tomorrows visit, you might have to take more choccies in..😉

ReplyDeleteYou could always call the machine Pinball as in Pinball Wizard...Tommy. It seems to be a wizard and I think you are doing an amazing job Tom. Alot of people hide away but what you're doing is probably helping alot if people who are terrified of anything to do with cancer. I think you will be putting alot of people's minds at rest.
