24-11-123 Day5 Treatment 5

Hello and Happy Friday to everyone and once again thank you for reading the Crap I write and making your comments , much appreciated , I had hoped this would be short , but it wont be.

So my appointments at the Christie after Mondays Farce  are all at 14 05 hrs and I need to be ready up to 2 hours before that for Collection which isnt a Problem for me , so today at 13-13 hrs I am just about ring Transport Office  when I get a phone "outside now please" so lock door and out I go  , No Taxi outside ? , so I wait a few moments then ring back on the Number that had Rung me , and its Street Cars , I say I am Outside my Home where  is the Taxi ,? we havent rung you they say , So how come I have rung you back on the Number that rang me ? We have no Taxis in that Area they say ? Well you should because you should picked me up ages ago for 2 pm Appointment at Christies so where is my Transport ? we will get one to you straight away they say ,But why hasnt been earlier I ask no answer ? Taxi Arrives 13-35 hrs , why are you so late I ask the driver ? his reply ! " I only got the job 5 minutes ago " he replies .

Arrive Christies over an hour later than my Appointment although   I had rung my Dept and explained what had Happened they thanked me for doing so and off to Suite 4 I toddle and sit down to try and relax again. When a Lady wit a face mask stands at the side of me ,? pause for a second then I recognise her as one of my ex  Bosses from Crown Court who had made contact with me after my FB post couple of weeks ago , she is now 3 weeks into her Chem Radio Therapy  treatment for a Brain Tumour , so very sad , they have operated  but couldnt get it all out so now havent treatment , it was lovely to see her apart form Our Both Circumstances , we were having a chat then I was Called in wearing my Thomas Trumps Cancer Hat which they asked me to do Yesterday .

As I walk into the treatment they all cheer when they see the Hat . This may now sound flippant , its not meant to be  , I said hello to the Team as I walked into the room and just proceeded to take my top off and Lay on Ray the Machine , Thomas says Colleen we have to ask you questions first with a smile on her face , questions asked and answered so on I get another day day at the Office , I suppose I brighten their day up a bit . Masked up Fixed down off they go Treatment done they release me and smile and say  off you go see you Monday. So that is week 1 completed .

Off to Transport desk to check in for Transport home at about 3 pm , Taxi arrives 5 pm get home 6-45 , the main part of my day frustrated waiting for transport , I know I made the decision to have NHS Transport for a number of reasons bu I see no reason at all why Transport should arrive  nearer to the booked time when you consider we ar on a timed Treatment schedule

Me Myself am fine with the treatment and if the weather is nice tomorrow I will go for a Bimble , and yes I know I am a moaning Old Fart ,ha ha

In fact in your usual style you seem to be coping very well not only with the treatment but with all the transport fiascos!
Keep smiling and keep ticking the days off till it’s over and you can put it all behind you x

  7. What a loada Bollocks!!!
First thing Monday morning you need to kick some arse in the transport department. You and I know the first criteria of any event/outing/visit or APPOINTMENT is the transport!!! (We would of had our arses kicked, and upset alot of people if we fell short in our day)
The treatment is sorting out your long-term health THE TRANSPORT SITUATION IS NOT LOOKING AFTER YOUR IMMEDIATE WELLBEING, WHICH IN TIME WILL EFFECT YOU HEALTH & RECOVERY AS THE TREATMENT GOES ON.
Get it sorted Tom the longer it goes on the longer your days are, you will need that lost time to aid your recovery as the treatment goes on.... Rant Over
Hopefully next week will improve, get yourself some stress-free fresh air this weekend and CHILL xxx

    2. "I know I made the decision to have NHS Transport for a number of reasons"
These are your words Tom, so get them to explain why it's farmed out to a taxi firm that is short of drivers between 12&2 and not NHS Transport?

  8. Evening Tom. Finally catching up on your first week. Loving the blog and the daily tails of transport hell n back. Have you seen any new parts of the city you've not seen before? You'll be able to be a taxi driver with the Mxr Knowledge after this lol. Glad you are feeling OK so far. Enjoy your bimble. Rest up too. Big hugs Julie P. Xx

  10. Hi Tom, I know a bit like your transport….late again…lol. Sorry to hear re your transport problem, it’s pretty poor considering the importance of your treatment and appointment time, I agree 100% with Ged. Not good for your psychic!. Enough of that…moving on, a full week down and now a few days to yourself and what you want to do, a bimble and fresh air sounds like a plan. Tom starting a blog was a great idea, we can feel like we are almost with you on your daily visits, not keen on your rides…☹️. I’ll email you a few pics, and speak to you over the weekend…big manly hug Tom..🫶

  15. Hiya Tom, ok I know I usually call you by your Sunday name, but I think we have known each other long enough now 😊❤️, so what a frustrating day you had! I guess the taxi firm just haven't got the intellect to understand that people might be a bit on edge being picked up late for an appointment for crucial treatment. I hope that Monday gets off to a better start. But my hero, you have done week 1 with aplomb and look forward to next weeks tales. You can moan all you want to. Just don't ever forget I love you ❤️xxxx

  16. Fair play on completing week one Tom. If your only complaint thus far is the transport fiasco and not any side effects/glowing green in the dark/growing an extra head then you must be doing well. You'll be glad to know that NHS Transport is just as much of a shambles down here in Notts. When I went for my CT scan a few weeks ago an elderly chap was dropped off by his son cos the NHS taxi never arrived. When I got out of the machine half hour later there was the lone taxi driver, trying to get a signature off a nurse for the same patient he'd failed to pick up!
