Week 5 Tuesday 19- 12-23 Day 22 , Treatment 22

So good evening , thanks to all those who have read or Commented on Yesterdays Blog , some nice comments thank you very  much  and a lovely surprise package when I got Home from Sara Hindle and Russ Hindle  2  lovely books for me to read , so thoughtful and I have to keep reminding myself  what lovely People are supporting me , so kind , Thank you Sara and Russ .

So transport bang on time today so at Christies  in good time which was good because Tuesday is Clinic Day, when I have Treatment       , then Dietitian , Then Doc .

So arrive and straight to Dept 39  and check in and through suite 4 , 3 patients in front of me so its a waiting time , eventually called in by another New Team member Mary who normally works at Salford Royal  , obviously moving staff around to cover Hols , no problem straight on Ray for treatment , where I am given the Box of protein drinks they forgot last week ,  then dressed and off to wait for next part with my box.

Over to get weighed then sit in a Little consultation room first in come 2  Dietitian Ladies who discuss  what I am eating and drinking and any issues , then they see the Box , yes I said should had these last Wednesday ha ha ,weight loss is their main concern  , but as I pointed out I would be amazed if anyone didnt lose weight on this Journey , I told them I am a Cake eater , Biscuit Eater , Chocolate Eater and certainly not eating or drinking what I normally and they agreed and were more than happy that I was still eating and cooking stuff daily so seeing I had my Protein drinks they should help and off they went .

Next up was the Doc a lovely Lady and asked How I was doing , I went straight to my issue with Fentanyl Patches I had been given  last week , I told That I didnt want to use them at all for various reasons and could I hand them  back to Pharmacy  , and Instead have a little more Morphine in case the Pain increases over the next few weeks , And that I hadnt taken any since last Saturday because I had Had a bit of a Meltdown and wanted to get myself  back on line without it if I  could Fentanyl doesnt allow that flexibility , we discussed a few things about Pain Control and she understood my Viewpoint and said it was My Decision that  mattered and didnt want to spoil my progress which they were pleased with and gave me a Prescription for some more Morphine to have on stand by if the pain increases over the last few weeks when I am no attending at Hospital every day . I have to admit this took a lot off my mind and I was happier.

So thats today done thanks everyone and Dee Andrews for spotting some had no saved , Just testing ha ha

Night Night x

There was a lot going on today, not sure I got to the end of your blog though. Just hope the protein drinks help with the weight loss, are you not eating any cake, chocolate and biscuits? Keep going Thomas, and I am still here sending those loving vibes. Nite nite big man, love you. xxx

  11. Hi Tom, you’re certainly in the groove now, thankfully the transport has settled into an acceptable ride..lol. It was good you decided yourself about the Fentanyl, the standby morphine patches are a much better option. You mentioned the doctor said they are pleased with your progress, this must have given you a lift? Day 9 done and dusted!!.. doing fantastic Tom. Our eldest son was born in Salford hospital, my wife is a Salford lass, but insists she wasn’t / isn’t a United supporter🤔😳😉 I do hope your not in too much pain, and you are managing to eat okay, even though I know you have no taste or smell. Catch you again tomorrow, day 8..🫶🫶🎄

  12. It’s quite a journey that you are on but you seem to be well on top of it and the doctors are listening so that’s all good. Not too long left now with the treatment and hopefully at some point you will get to ring that bell. Take care.
