Week 5 Wednesday 20-12-23 Day 23 Treatment 23
Well good afternoon everyone Surprise its still light outside and I am home everything whizzy whizz today , thanks to all those who read and commented on yesterdays Blog , I did have a few tech issues but it got there
So Today leaves 7 to go I think to hopefully End of Treatment Bell Ring time on 2 nd of Jan 2024 in the afternoon some time , what a way to start a New Year , I think I could get a bit emotional on That day .
my friend Bev Heath has very kindly offered to Uber me on the day so I dont have to wait for Transport afterwards and I very gratefully and sensibly accepted the kind offer . Bev has also offered to do Video and pics of the Final day such a lovely Lady .
So back to today Taxi bang on time and on arrival met up again with Lynn Howe who had offered to keep me company again which was nice , so after a Hug ( which is why I forgot to check in ha ha ) We made our way to the dreaded Pharmacy where I needed to Hand back and sign for the Fentanyl patches that I wont be using ,and Put my Prescription in for the stand by By Morphine ,to be collected tomorrow , didnt really take long .
So its off to Dept 39 to check in where we pass Achilles from Suit 4 and I have to apologize for calling him Hercules in Error , we shook Hands and he let me off ha ha , Lynn and I had only been sat for a minute when I was called in , all going good today , In straight on to Ray Masked up some nice music playing then it was off to Transport and check in there , Lynn gave me a lovely little book of light reading from the fringe , arent people lovely to me , and we were nattering for about 15 minutes then my name was called and that was it another Hug and off into the Sunlight and home quick because very little traffic , wish it had been like that every day
So thats today done nice and early off to decided On and cook Tea .
Bye Bye Love you all
Tom x
Great to hear you’ve had a good day Tom, and stress free is a definite bonus!! Good to hear you sound chipper and not long to go. Big hugs as ever xx julie
ReplyDeleteHi Tom…I got you into the count down I see…lol. Sounds like a perfect day, and thanks for confirming the bell ringing day, I didn’t think you found out so soon after your final treatment. Is there 2 bell ringing days, end of treatment, and bell ringing cancer free?. Cannot believe you only have 7 treatments left, you have done amazing Tom in the face of some terrible periods of sickness at the beginning, to now with the end in sight and never missing a blog…well one I think…lol. I think you’ll need some extra tissues in the coming weeks, those old emotions will flood your mind, and what wonderful feelings they will be…..π«Άπ«Ά❤️ππ π»
ReplyDeleteJust seven treatments until the bell. That is great news.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to 2nd January with you xx

People are lovely Thomas, but they are responding to you, you are a lovely man and it brings out the best in people. You deserve every bit of love and attention you get, and I won't hear a word said to the contrary. We all love you and can't wait for January 2nd and a huge Bell Ringing day, can't wait for the pictures. Nite nite my lovely Thomas, sleep well, God bless and remember I love you xxx

ReplyDeleteTom , you are such an inspiration to everyone that you meet , your up beat attack on your Cancer is a Cancer killing your Cancer you are nailing it . Bell day will have all of us shedding a tear of Joy and happiness .Then you will still have us helping you smile during your recovery .
ReplyDeleteAw Tom, Ray hasn’t impacted your wicked sense of humour - Achilles and Hercules. Every day you’ve made us smile on here with the little observations and great sense of humour. Even on the hardest days. Thank goodness another good day!! Great to read.
ReplyDeleteJust SEVEN to go!! You are totally getting this cancer treatment done!!
So much continued love and support …… albeit virtually on here for you. M’WAH xxx
Lovely to read that all is going well and only 7 more to go before you ring the bell for a better new year and the end of your treatments. An inspiration to us all, I'm sure they will miss you at Christies xx Angie
ReplyDeleteWell Thomaaaaas (as Miss Georgina would say), you are surely smashing this like Hercules! Sure the guys there think you are Quite A Character! Remind me are you there on Christmas Day or is that a rare day off? Just can't believe how quickly it seem to have gone although sure it hasn't been for you. Shame I cannot be there for the bell ring but with you in spirit and look forward to the video (can you throw the Quality Steeet up again for good measure, sure it'll make the nurses laugh!) Take care matey, home straight now xx
ReplyDeleteThat is truly amazing Tom. Ringing that bell in just 7 treatments' time. It seems like it was only yesterday that we were ambling round Heaton Park as you told us all about what lay ahead for you, and it's almost over in the blink of an eye. Yet all through it you've kept your chin up, kept a positive outlook, still found time for others in the hospital and stayed the same caring, joyful Thomas Slattery that we know and love. And YOU ARE LOVED TOM... No matter what you go through, never forget that X
