Bog update 10-1-24

Good evening and thank you to all those who read and commented on my Last Blog , all comments appreciated.

Update  So todays visit to the Christie didnt start well , although I was up at 5-30 am ( I have to be ready 2 hours before my 9 am Appt ) and despite numerous phone calls saying 5 minutes , my Taxi  arrives at  8-50 am , to be at Christies at 9 am , doubtless I wasnt happy and made  that clear to the Driver in no uncertain terms , then we get stuck in all the Traffic , he starts to comment about delay ,I tell him well if you had been on time we wouldnt be in it would we !!! he never spoke again and neither did I .

Go straight to Dept 22 Acute Assessment Unit 45 minutes late and apologise  , where once again a very warm welcome , nothing to do with choccies and thank you card for Saturdays care I received . Bev takes me straight through and explains what is happening ,another Canular  going in And more Bloods being taken and all Body readings being taken , .

Then we are Joined by Alice a Nurse Practitioner who explains that Biopsies taken of my wounds on Saturday proved to be contaminated and it was good that I had Rang the Hot Line , my suspicions well founded. They then removed and washed the wounds and retreated the wounds  with the New Ointment which had made a massive difference in just a couple of days , so much better , then a new Collar fitted , Alice tells me they will give me a weeks Anti Biotics  just to make sure (  more meds ha ha ) and I am free to leave . I say my thanks and head for the Main Entrance where my friend Albert Hicks is waiting to bring me home which worked out very well , we had a good catch up and a couple of brews , not seen each other for ages

Next Appt is 19 th Jan with Doc and Clinician and I ( YES ME ) Am going to drive with Albert as shotgun , just in case.

Thats it for now

Lots of Love

Tom   x

Hi Tom, good job you got that emergency appointment on Saturday and they found the contamination… the blisters and neck problems haven’t help with all the other stuff going on, sounds like you will feel even more improvement in your rehab with the cream and now antibiotics. Just when we all thought the transportation was sorted, this happens!!. Things sounding very positive Tom, please keep the blog going and keep us up to date…🫢❤️

On the positive note, over 1 week done on the Radiotherapy’s side effects continuing. Bet you can’t wait to get to the 3 week stage!

So pleased to read your neck is starting to heal with the new ointment! And the amazing care of the Christie’s gang.

And for lovely Laura’s blanket to keep you snuggly & warm & wrapped up.
