Blog update Thursday 23-5-24
Hello and good afternoon everyone , sorry ,I appreciate its been a while since I updated the Blog on 29 th April but to be honest its been a bit of a Mess .Are you sitting Comfortably 😁
After having the last lot of Tests I returned to Christies with my friend Bev Heath on the 10 th May to find out the results of The Biopsies from my Oncologist Mr Hughes , after a brief chat he went on to the Computer to get my File details , when he looked at the screen he said was looking good because "They didnt need to do Biopsies ? " , when I informed him that they HAD put Pins in my neck and were looking for a 9 mm Lymph Node !!! , his face changed , saying there is nothing on the System ?? That may be I replied but I can assure you that I watched a Pin inside my Neck on the Screen and listened to them chat about where to go !! .He said that he had to go and make some phone calls On his return he wasnt a Happy Chappie and couldnt explain what had gone on and would have to Investigate more , but in the Mean time More Tests would have to be done before he could sign me off ,Although I was annoyed and frustrated I understood His position and he understood Mine .
Last week I received a Letter to Return to Christies today 23-5-24 to have them Repeated (Ouch ) So today I was up very early to be able to get to Christies for my 9 am appt , on arrival I went up to Dept 2 and checked in and waited to be called in , 45 minutes later than appointment time I was called in to the examination room and told to Lie down on the Bed , and in come 2 Clinicians / Consultants Joe and Chan , who were brilliant , a total change to the previous pair who had cocked up. Joe explained what was going to happen and that Chan would be doing the Pins and Joe would be monitoring and guiding , he asked if I had any questions , which I had and he answered them fully and clearly . Then they prepped my neck and started the Procedure , they are going to take 3 Biopsies on each side of my neck from the Lymph Nodes that they had identified during the Ultra Sound Scan that they had done , so another 6 holes in my neck its a wonder I dont leak 😃 So Chan apologised in advance for the Pain ,nice chap , and commenced sticking the Pins in and giving me a rest after each one he did , they were a really good team and although it was painful and uncomfortable I appreciated that it just had to be done hopefully for the last time .
And that was me done , a plaster on each side of my neck to stop me leaking and I was cleaned up and escorted out.
This is not a Pleasant experience but these Guys did their best to make sure that I was as comfortable as Possible all the way through , and I thanked them for their care and understanding and shook their hands.
And latest news Hot off the Press I have managed to get an appointment on the 7 th June to hear the results , unless of course something crops up on the Biopsies .So fingers crossed not long to wait for the Magic Words so I can relax and plan a much needed Break of some kind .
Thank you everyone 7 months and counting ,But I know that I am one of the Lucky Ones whose Treatment was a Success .
God Bless
Tom x
