Blog Update June 17-6-24 Monday
Well hello everyone and welcome ,Whats happened since 29th May update ? not a lot really , I managed to complete the Part 2 of the Earad Clinical Review tests after my ear issue cleared up , so that is done and dusted and out of the way . I did have another Appointment at the Fairfield Hospital on the 11th June , but that was a farce ,total waste of time so wont bother with it any Further
So today was my 22 nd Hospital / Clinic Visit of 2024 !! thats quite a lot isnt it , and it was back to the Christie Hospital ,Nuclear Medicine Outpatients dept for another Full Body PET Scan .
Nice to be welcomed with Hello again how are you ? from more or less the same staff as my Last one , Lisa and a Young Student Nurse Daisy took me into the Lead Lined Examination and Lisa went through the procedure and tick sheet with me and there were no issues arising from that . So the next bit as usual involved more puncture wounds on my Body ,1 for the Cannula in my arm, and another in my hand for the usual Blood Test as required those done Lisa and Daisy left the room to go for the Radioactive material in its Special Gun applicator , first some Saline into the Line then the Heavy stuff then some more material to flush it through and into my Body , I dont feel anything different at all. Then they adjust my chair and make me comfortable turn out the main light and switch a small one on , ask if I am o.k and are leaving the room for 1 hour , sleep time 😁 Bang on 1 hour later a knock on the big heavy Lead Lined door and Lucy ( same Nurse as Last Time ) , asks me nicely to go and empty my Bladder then takes me into the C T Scanner room and secure me on the Bed of the machine so I am pretty well strapped on and tells me to listen for instructions and stay very still , then leaves the room and The Scan begins 35 minutes later it stops Lucy comes back in and now it is for the Contrast to be pumped into my Body , back into the Scanner but this only takes about 5 minutes then Lucy returns and releases me and says it was a good Scan and now its back to my little room for 15 minutes to let everything settle and a Cup of Tea ,Then another Nurse returns ask if I feel o.k ? takes out the Cannula and escorts out of the Secure Zone , thats me done .
So in Theory I have no more Hospital Appointments until the 5th July , famous last words , when I am due to see My Hughes for my Biopsie results ( second batch ) and PET Scan results , when I hope to shout YES WE DID IT !!! out loud put on my Thomas Trumps Cancer Cap and go ring that Bloody Bell and tell you all the good news !! 😂😂
So until then bye bye take care stay safe , love you all to bits and thank you all for the fantastic support that you have given me ,I could not have done it without you .
Tom x

Hugs and kisses from us both!! Sleep well tonight you deserve it!!! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a journey Tom!!! Thank you for educating us all with your descriptions of every single procedure and every single step of your journey, with Ray and all the hospital staff along the way. It’s like we’ve been in the room with you, collectively witnessing everything with you.
ReplyDeleteYour humour even in the toughest days, your kindness taking the time to get to know and ask everyone’s names, has absolutely shone through.
Now for that final appointment with Mr Hughes. Keeping everything crossed for the ultimate results.
SEVENTEEN DAYS TO GO!!!
Biggest proudest e-hugs xx

DeleteTom I have said it all in our messenger communications……your an incredible person, the times and dark days you have been through on your own, yet you never missed a beat with letting your friends know how things where and what you were going through. I am glad you have friends for support, our days wouldn’t be the same without “Toms” outings and daily reports. I have said it before and I’ll say it again….never doubted you ringing the bell, okay I’ll admit when has been longer than expected…lol. Big hugs Tom 🫶🫶❤️
