So its a Saturday and the Transport is bang on time so its off we go to Christies , arrive in plenty of time and go straight to to Dept 39 , suite 4 as usual , 2 people in front so time to read some more of the book . Then Rhianne calls me in so off I go , say hello to the Team and as usual shirt off ,and now medical Collar off with help from  Colene ( yes I have had it wrong and  she never said so I  told her off for a change ha ha No chance !!  Collar off and Clingfilm applied and its on to Ray ,Mask on and Treatment ready to roll , nice music choice from Rhianne has me finger tapping ha ha , Job done I am cooked to a turn and released .  Good evening everyone , firstly I hope you all had a safe and Happy Christmas time . So than you to all those who read and commented on last Fridays Blog seems ages ago ,4 days without treatment I was having withdrawal symptoms ha ha , amazing how quick the body attunes isnt it. Lots to get through tonight.  So here it is week 6 , Taxi arrived on time and apart from a Flock of Canada Geese deciding to cross the road  in front of us, made people laugh , it was a smooth traffic free journey arriving quite early , so straight to have what I thought was my last Vampire visit , Wrong , I now have another on Saturday and the 2nd next Tuesday , oh joy , didnt have to wait long it was the regular Lady who has done them all along , so done and off to Dept 39 suite 4 . and it was very busy so probably a long wait today , which would be very Handy for me. Straight to Dept 39 to check in , where sadly I have been moved due to workload to Suite 1 , a bit peeved because I had my Christmas Hat and jumper on as requested by the Team and wont be able to say merry Christmas to them 4 People ahead of me so a bit of a wait today . So how surprised when Lydia from Suite 4  appeared to say Hello and gave me a Lovely Christmas Hug , I asked to pass my best wishes on to the rest of the Team , How  lovely of her to do that , most touching . Well good afternoon everyone Surprise its still light outside and I am home everything whizzy whizz today , thanks to all those who read and commented on yesterdays Blog , I did have a few tech issues but it got there   So Today leaves 7 to go I think to hopefully  End of Treatment Bell Ring time on 2 nd of Jan 2024 in the afternoon some time , what a way to start a New Year , I think I could get a bit emotional on That day . my friend Bev Heath has very kindly offered to Uber me on the day so I dont have to wait for Transport afterwards and I very gratefully and sensibly accepted the kind offer . Bev has also offered to do Video and pics of the Final day such a lovely Lady . So transport bang on time today so at Christies  in good time which was good because Tuesday is Clinic Day, when I have Treatment       , then Dietitian , Then Doc . So arrive and straight to Dept 39  and check in and through suite 4 , 3 patients in front of me so its a waiting time , eventually called in by another New Team member Mary who normally works at Salford Royal  , obviously moving staff around to cover Hols , no problem straight on Ray for treatment , where I am given the Box of protein drinks they forgot last week ,  then dressed and off to wait ...

Good evening everyone and Happy Monday , thank you to everyone who has read the Blog and to those who have Commented. I had a bit of an Emotional meltdown Last Friday evening and Saturday , kicked off by wrapping Christmas presents just set me off thinking  about my Journey so far and    some of the Fronts I have been fighting on !! Christmas isnt my best time of year anyway for Personal reasons and with one thing or another it just tipped me over , But its done now and the week end improved on Saturday Morning with a lovely visit from my ex work colleague and friend ,And City Supporter Jane Morris , we worked together at Crown Square for many years and know each other well , so well that the first Hug had us both in Tears ,I had had to cancel previous planned meets so it was relief , pleasure and Love coming out , we had a really good chat lots of  Cursing and lots of Laughing Then she was off to the Game with Husband  Stephen. Today was probably the easiest most straightforward  day since I  started Treatment , Transport on time again. Arrived at Christies  headed straight to Dept 39 Suite 4 , only 2 Customers in front so it wasnt long before I was called in in to meet Ray again Lydia was in charge today whizz whizz , job done dressed and off go to book in at Transport the Sun is shining out side and literally 10 minutes minutes later my name is called out and I am on my way home  Here endeth Todays Blog  Love you all  Tom x  

 Good morning everyone and another apology for failing to do the Blog Yesterday , I was knackered and even failed to watch another dismal Man Utd Failure . Into a waiting area  where I am weighed  and asked a few questions then off to a  Medical room where I meet Mr Hughes , my Oncologist for the first time since 29 th October  various questions asked on both sides and he is Prescribing more  drugs to help with Pain ( I already rattle when I walk ) and A Morphine patch .  Good evening everyone  , thats  another week end end slipped bye , thanks to all those who have read and Commented on the Last Blog  Well today started at precisely 9-05 am and I am still enjoying an unbroken sleep , my first since this  Journey thing started , when I am awoken by my phone ringing  ( Private number ) so I try my best  to utter a word "Hello" , is that Thomas Slattery ? ,Yes !!  Are you aware you  have missed an 8 am appointment ? , Err no , my appointments are all 14-05 hrs right through ! well you have missed a Clinical One at 8 am so we are sending a Vehicle to pick you up . So a good start to the day Taxi on time and safely delivered to the Christies , and straight to Dept 39 and Suite 4 , when they called me in today I asked the Team if they could get the Doc to see me after Treatment because my throat was now  getting so SORE EVEN JUST DRINKING WATER WAS TOUGH AND I WAS STRUGGLING TO EAT AND SPEAK.  The Team said they would  sort it out and took me through to Ray , who was a bit Cold today as well . Masked up and Off they  go , the music playing was  All Right Now , funny that , and Music played longer than the Treatment ha ha . Dressed and told a Doc was on the way so I waited outside and Dr appeared and we went to a Consultation room , she asked me what the problem was and I told pain in my throat every time I swallow and really painful when food or water consumed , so we threw around some Ideas but she told ...

Transport arrived on time and off we went to the Christies  in Manchester   Arrived early and went straight to check in at Dept 39  , noticing lots of Christmas Jumpers around the Place ,apparently its National Christmas Jumper Day and nobody told me !! sat waiting for a few minutes then called into Suite 4 ( sounds posh that doesnt it ) straight in Top off and straight on to Ray , Masked up and treatment  fires up . Soon the Team are back in unmasking me and once again sending me on   my way.; Off to Transport which looking busy no quick escape today Im afraid  , eventually car arrives but  its now peeing down and Dark and traffic is awful so its a slow run home tonight .  Good evening for the second time today , Thanks everyone for your comments yesterday , it certainly was a tough day , I was so tired and had so much to write but just couldnt do it. Today is much easier. Bang on 1 pm Taxi arrived and off we went to Christies. Arrived at 1-40 pm and straight to Dept 39 and suite 4 , checked and went in waiting  where I had no sooner sat Down than called in by Lydia and Tracy a Lady from Christies Oldham having and experience day , she loved the Hat , so it was straight in and Undressed and on to Ray I go , safely secured in my Mask , off the 2 Ladies go and Ray sparks into Life  . Pretty soon its over and I am released from Mask ,Dressed again and on my way out given a Box of Supplement Drinks that the Dietitian  had left for me about 25 of them I think to help build me up again , then I get the Teams sweetie choice for tomorrow ,Haribo , what a great Team they are. Yesterday started o. k with Transport on time , today I am having the usual Treatment then seeing the Dietitian and The Doc  so a busy one . Arrived at Dept 39 early for a change and checked  in , 3 people in front of me so sit and wait . So it was week 3 of my Course and a Wet Monday and lots of traffic issues which delayed my arrival at Christies , just one of those frustrating days , not really anyones  fault . Because its the first day of the week its over to Dept 1 ,the Vampires , didnt have to wait long before being called in and I asked Julie if she could use my right arm today because my left looks a bit bruised , no Problem at , pretty quickly 5 samples taken and off I paddle to Dept 39 , Suite 4 and check in. Not many people waiting , pretty much the usual Patients I see daily at around the same time. So today Transport was on Time I even received a Text with an ETA , So perhaps my letter last week did rattle a few cages, this benefits everyone not just me.  Straight down to Dept 39 and Suite 4 , pretty much called in straight away , The Team first asked how I was and was I still having eating and retention Issues , I told them it appears to have cleared and that  I had eaten Breakfast and also had some Tomato Soup before setting out today. They were all very pleased and we got on with the Treatment which again for me Has been the easy bit ,I just lay there and get Zapped .
